As You Like It
SUMMER 2022 TOUR
ABOUT US
Hello! Thanks for joining us here. We're a new theatre company that specialises in Actor-Musician productions. The founding members: Ed, Harry, Madeleine and Persia all trained at the Guildford School of Acting. We are at heart an actor-musician theatre company, but also so much more- we take original scores, live music, theatre, dance, and stage combat, and jumble it all together so you can't tell where one ends and the next begins. Long story short, you won't have seen anything like what we bring to the table, and we can't wait to share it with the world in our production of As You Like It.
ABOUT THE SHOW
As You Like It follows the story of Rosalind as she flees the royal court of her tyrannus uncle to seek out her father, who is in exile in the Forest Of Arden. She disguises herself as a young man, called Ganymede, and, along with her cousin Celia, begins to settle into the forest. She is also followed by Orlando, who has fallen in love with her. She decides to test Orlando, and gets him to woo her despite him not knowing that she is, in fact, Rosalind herself. Meanwhile, her father, Duke Senior, lives happily in the forest, accompanied by a Melancholy Lord, Jaques. As You Like It is full of wonderfully witty dialogue, beautiful poetry, soaring music and classic comedy.
Our original score mixes folk music with elements of rock and jazz to create the glorious atmosphere of a forest in spring, and the warmth and longing of love. The score is played live by our cast of 6 actor musicians.

director's note
It is with great pleasure to invite you on our journey to the Forest of Arden for this raucous and joyful reimagining of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy in which “All the world’s a stage”. Songs, fights and slapstick abound from this rambunctious troupe of Actor-Musicians.
Arden is an enchanting place: whilst one willingly could waste their time in this forest, the delights of love can still be truly and deeply found there.
Our cast and creatives have worked tirelessly for two weeks to create something very special- that we hope uplifts and brings laughter, togetherness, raises questions and teaches lessons.
I have hugely enjoyed directing this timeless comedy and moulding it to a group of modern Actor Musicians who bring a fresh perspective to the text. With our Actors performing Jupiter's original score live at each performance, we hope to embody how music can become an extension of a character: their thoughts, feelings and physicalities.
Thank you all for joining us - Harry Edwin
